history
Sand Creek, established in 1865, is geographically located between the banks of the Sand Creek and the Red Cedar River in northwestern Wisconsin. However, most of us find this small friendly gem of a town, located deep within our hearts – a treasure chest full of culture, diversity, and memories.
It was because a small group of Norwegian settlers realized the merit of the water and the farm land that they set down their roots to establish Sand Creek. The rest of it as we say, “is now history”.
As we celebrate in Sand Creek, we will reflect on these pioneers and all who made Sand Creek what it is today. At the same time, let’s gaze into 2065, with the eyes and dreams of our future generations.
